"I love anything outdoors!"

Tell us about a special interest, topic or hobby that you enjoy.

I love anything outdoors or holistic medicine of course!

What is your job/business?

  Naturopathic Physician, Lake Oswego, Oregon

What interested you to start CrossFit?

I had a patient recommend it to me (thanks!!).  I love the diversity and the real life applications.  It is a very different gym experience.  I have never really enjoyed the 24 hr fitness type of setting.  CrossFit is much different.  I love that I don’t have to come up with a workout or get stuck doing the same thing every week.

What was your introduction to CrossFit like?

I showed up for a couple workouts.  I felt that I was in decent shape.  I have always been active.

I remember the first few weeks there were days that it was hard to hold my steering wheel to drive home.  I loved it!

The trainers were great and supportive.

What class times are you usually at?

I usually go at 5:30 after work occasionally at noon.  It is a great way to let go of stress from the day.

How often do you train?

3-5 times per week.  Ideally 5.

What has your experience/results been since starting your training here?

I am definitely stronger.  I cringe thinking of how weak I really was.  Everyday things in life are easier when you are stronger.  I don’t think I ever really thought about that before.  I look forward to going to my workouts.  I just think of them as part of my workday.  I don’t think of it as having to go exercise at all.

How have your goals changed since day 1?

I had never been able to do a pull-up.  I don’t think I ever really tried or cared.  I started seeing other women do them so I thought what the heck!  It took me 1  1/2 years but pull-ups aren’t that bad now!  Now I have an idea of where my weaknesses are and how to improve them.  It’s fun to look back at my numbers from early on and compare to now.  I notice improvements every month.

What are your current goals (fitness and/or other areas)?

My current goals are just to keep at it.  I love how I feel and love the energy I get from the workouts.  I guess I should get better at double unders hmm…

Maybe double my body weight in a deadlift.

Any thing else we should know about you?

Who says we have to get weaker and sicker as we age?  I just don’t agree.

Eat whole foods and go to CrossFit….that would fix most of Americans problems today!
