I am Carol Peterson. I am 63 years old. I developed MS in the late 70’s. I had trouble walking with very bad fatigue problems. Over the years I got weaker until I had a hard time even walking through Winco.
Over the years I also had a very bad bout of depression. It got so bad that I spent 90 % of my day sitting in a chair which made me even weaker. In 2000, I started having sever back pain. I was put on pain killers four times a day. I started on Avonx, a muscle injection once a week, which helped stabilize the progression of my MS.
I spent most of my life sitting, not feeling like doing anything. The back pain got so bad I even had thoughts of ending my life. I would lie awake at night crying because I couldn’t sleep, til finally the sleep deprivation got to be a real problem in my life. It affected my whole life, including my marriage. It was very hard on my husband.
My husband and I talked about it and decided that I needed to do something to make my life worth living. We went to a gym to see if anyone had dealt with MS patients before. They had me see Cody. I started going twice a week.  I have been going for three months. The change has been great. I am getting stronger every week. My back pain is gone and I am sleeping through the night. My balance is improving all the time. I am off the pain killers during the day and haven’t had a problem with depression in a couple of months.
I’ve been going to my son’s car races and have gone to the coast three or four times, and have been able to walk a long way. I am going on a cruise to Alaska in July and for a camping trip for a week in August. Having Cody as a trainer has made a great difference in my life. I really appreciate the work that he has done with me. I recommend a trainer to MS patients. It makes a world of difference and it gives you a purpose. I do think you need a trainer to work with you. Cody has kept me working, because without that, I give up too easily. When I get tired, it’s too easy to quit.
I thank you Cody for all your efforts in helping me. It’s changed my life.
