Personal Excellence Training (PXT) was started by Cody and Jennifer Limbaugh in 2004.
We started by training people in their homes and sometimes at their work. Our long term vision was to bring world class training to the local community, but in the beginning we were hauling equipment around in the trunk of our car!
Offering Personal Training services in and around the Lake Oswego area, we grew steadily. Not only in our business but in our depth of knowledge and experience in getting results. We opened our doors on our first location in 2007. With lots of elbow grease and sweat, we converted a humble 800 square foot room into a first class training studio. By now, many of our students were not only our best friends, but had practically become family.
That same year, we happened to be introduced to the CrossFit movement. The timing couldn’t have been better. We were experimenting more and more with high intensity functional training and a student brought to our attention that our training style looked like CrossFit. “What’s CrossFit?”, we asked.
That’s all it took.
The more we were exposed to all aspects of CrossFit – the methods, coaches, community, research and development…everything about CrossFit was an answer to the questions we had been fighting to answer on our own. CrossFit’s “open source” philosophy of coaches helping coaches was such a novel concept in the fitness industry, we were immediately hooked!
We began to soak up knowledge from some of the best coaches from all over the world and implement what we were learning into our training and really, into the whole culture of our training center. In early 2010 we were busting the seams of our little studio. So we moved downstairs, into a 4,000 square foot training center, complete with a kids area, dressing rooms, bathrooms, a stretching area and more!
Now in 2012 we are continuing to develop new and exciting programs. We have a full staff of highly experienced and qualified Coaches, and we’re planning on opening our second location in West Linn by mid-year!
