As of January 1st 2013, we will require all of you to sign up for any class time you plan on attending, no later than 12 hours before the class starts.
This includes “Open Gym” time and all other coached classes.
You have a couple options for doing this:
1st- you can schedule yourself into a class from home simply by logging on to our Schedule found on the right of this page.
2nd- you can schedule your next visit while you are at the gym each time you are in.
You now have the ability to sign up for classes up to 8 days in advance, and down to the last 12 hours before the class starts. So if you know your schedule for the next week and would like to book all of your workouts at once, you may do so.
What does this mean? Will you be turned away if you forget to sign up for a class?
…Not likely. If there are other people already scheduled for the class but it is not full, you should go ahead and come if you can, even if you forgot to sign up for it. However, if there is no one signed up for a class and you show up anyway, there may not be a coach here! Also, you will have the ability to see if a class is full (12 people reserved). If that is the case, we recommend signing up for another class time. We are still offering an “open schedule” format. You can sign up for any class at any time, as long as it’s before the 12-hour cut-off (feel free to text or call your coach for last-minute changes)
Why are we doing this?
There are several benefits to having you book your training:
1st- Accountability. Having a consistent work ethic is critical to success in anything. Showing us your intended workout schedule in advance will help us coach you and help you stay accountable to your goals!
2nd- Communication. Related to the first benefit, having an expectation for your Coach will help us in staying in contact with you. If you are scheduled but don’t show up, we will know right away if something is not right, and we want to be here to help you! Sometimes a week or more can go by before we realize we haven’t seen you and that’s just not acceptable! We want to help you succeed. That can be difficult if we don’t even know you need help!
3rd-Community. Perhaps the most important aspect of our gym is our close, family-like community. Your friends here all want to see you succeed. “I succeeded” is sweet, “We succeeded” is even sweeter! When you go to sign up for a class now, you will see how many others are signed up for that class. This will help you plug into your community here even further by seeing how many students you will be working with and perhaps coordinating with your friends as to which class they will be attending.
4th- Efficiency. This one is probably obvious. From the point of view of our Coaches, this will create greater efficiency in our schedule so that we can better plan our work, organizing the work space and creating more free time to devote to improving in other areas.
5th- Future Planning. Again- we want to offer every possible opportunity for you to succeed. Part of our vision for PXT is to continue to bring you more variety of resources and coaching. This may include future clinics, workshops, seminars and events. By tracking attendance and having accountability to a schedule we can more easily provide you with other options in the schedule and see where the greatest opportunities are for improvements.
6th- Information. Finally, having a schedule that you are familiar with will help us to inform you of special events and workshops, or any gym closures for holidays or inclement weather and such.
We are always looking for better ways to help you be successful. From community events, to continuing education, we are committed to our continued improvement. We believe this is one tool that will help us to serve you better.
It’s really easy! Why not go here now and try it out?

There are some workouts you see scheduled and think, “that doesn’t look to bad.” Of course they are never easy, but always a great workout. There are some workouts that are scheduled and you know, “this is going to be a good challenge!”

Cody, will you be posting the workouts of the week? I really would like that so I can plan my week, or at least early in the evening to be able to confirm for the next day. I don’t pick and choose, but now I know after which WODs I may need a day to rest.
