    Why I CrossFit:
CrossFit may not help me to live longer, but I’m convinced it will help me to live right up to the end. I would rather live to 80 and stay active and alive right to the end, rather than live to be 100 and spend the last 20 years having to depend on others.
The level of functional fitness that can be maintained with the CrossFit lifestyle is helping people to live full and active days, when days are all that are left.
    Freedom.
Free to move, free to explore, free to learn and free from dependency.

To me, CrossFit is a necessary component to living my whole life as free as possible.

I LoVE CrossFit! I do it because I need the challenge. I need goals and obstacles to keep me going. I want to embrace the inevitable suck I know is coming, just so I can conquer it, my way, looking back at accomplishment.
CrossFit lets me do that on my terms.
I CrossFit because I love people. My CrossFitters are my family. It’s a documented fact that tribes thrive better when they work together.
    I love my tribe.
    Why do you CrossFit?

      Ditto=-)

I CrossFit to be strong and healthy. I CrossFit so my chronic medical conditions do NOT define me. I CrossFit so that I can stop taking so many medications. I CrossFit to push myself farther than I ever thought possible. I CrossFit for family and everything they posted earlier. I Crossfit for friends, comradery, and inspiration. I CrossFit because it works!
    Mostly I CrossFit for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. PXTCody says:

So proud of you sis! You are inspiring other people through your courage! Keep it up!

I Crossfit because “Mirror Breaks” are a waste of time!

S’up Barolo? Gotta check out the 6-pack or it might disappear yo…

On a more serious note, I crossfit because it is a real workout. I still get sore from the daily WOD’s. At a typical gym after a couple months of the same or even a bit different routing there was little soreness and even less results. Crossfit has also got me in the best shape of my life after college.

“During a workout if you can think you are not pushing hard enough.”

It has also re-taught me the mental side of pushing through what I may have not thought possible and doing more things that maybe intimidated me.

I Crossfit at Crossfit Excellence because every coach there has helped me improve weekly and I feel are the best group of coaches I have workout with and genuinely care. Thank you all!

As Coach Jen stated above, the “tribe” or group I see on a daily basis are inspirational and good people to be around and share the workout pain with.

        1. PXTCody says:

          Thanks for the kudo’s Kevin.

You…intimidated? I never would have guessed!

I love seeing what happens when people get started and throw in 100%.

And you have certainly done that! I can see a day when you are on every square of the leader board!

  5. Donna says:

I love CrossFit because it keeps me strong. At my age, with the modified workout I can stay strong and get back on my feet after so many surgeries.

    1. PXTCody says:

It’s a privilege to have you here Donna. Your “no-excuse” positive attitude is a highlight to my day and you help to take away other’s excuses too!

Your willingness to keep coming back after setbacks is a great example to follow, and your hard-fought for PR’s are truly inspiring!

      I hope you never stop!

      1. Kevin M says:

        10) I don’t complain. Complaining is for crybabies. There are 11,232 babies born in the US everyday. I will leave the crying to them. I will soldier on.

          Good one Kevin!

Gary and Donna are great examples of the “Heart of a CrossFitter”!

  6. Marge Rowan says:

I CrossFit because I want to live fully, strong, and healthy for the rest of my life, no matter how long that may be! Breaking PRs is great fun, and practically unbelievable, when it happens (like today). I have never found ANYTHING in my life experience that is as exhilarating and astonishing as completing any WOD of the week, whether of not, I’ve had to modify. When I finish the WOD, I KNOW I’ve done something! And I’ve done it surrounded by friends who are supportive, encouraging, and challenging me all along the way! My goal when I’m 85 is to be the one asking others if I can help them with their grocery bags, instead of the other way around.

    1. PXTCody says:

      Exactly Marge! That’s awesome!

If it wasn’t so confusing I would start calling you “PR” after this week!

      PR- Fran (RX)
PR- Front Squat from 115 to 135?
      PR- Deadlift 200!!!

      You pretty much wrock!

  7. Miguel says:

I Crossfit to answer another question: Why I’m on this plane?… and if I want to attempt to answer the latter I have to be in good emotional, psychological and physical shape. CrossFit helps with the last one… and crying and cussing out load in the gym helps me with the other two ;-)

    1. PXTCody says:

HAHA! Nothing wrong with a little “anger management”! LOL

6:30 class wouldn’t be the same without you there Mig! You and Karina are a great example for us all to follow (in many ways)!

  8. Karina says:

Late but here it is…. I CrossFit because I like challenges and this is definitely my personal challenge. For me it’s not just going to the gym, it’s a commitment. I really enjoy it and have fun with the people I workout with and everybody is inspiring in different ways. I want to avoid all my family diseases and prove them that not only with exercise but with good eating habits it is possible, and age doesn’t matter. I want to be a good example to my kids and teach them not to quit, always keep trying (not only in CrossFit but in life). :)

    1. PXTCody says:

I love it when people first join and they look at someone else here for inspiration. The new person wonders if it is even possible to get as strong/lean/fast as the more experienced athlete. Then… without even realizing it down the road, the person who WAS the newbie, the person who had doubts is now the one others are looking to become.

That’s YOU Karina! There is lots of talk in the gym when you are not around about how well you perform and how great you look! Your 198# Deadlift PR was the most recent- and I’m sure not the last!

  9. Jason R says:

I started CrossFit as part of my personal journey through a tough mid life crisis. One that has brought me face to face with how destructive I had become to myself and those closest around me, part of that was working too much and never taking care of myself.

I expected it to be like any other gym experience, a dreaded one to two hour routine that is both boring and leaves a person with a sense of having gone nowhere.

CrossFit Excellence is a family. It has meant a great deal to me for each of you to cheer me on and bring me into your family. I am loving all of it. The really tough days (like today), and Paul’s video of me DL 300# — I’ve never attempted that before!

Thanks not only to the coaches, but all the wonderful new friends.

    Jason

    1. PXTCody says:

      RIGHT ON JASON!

I love it when people “get it”. Some never do, but you have! It’s really great to have you with us and I can’t wait to see the changes to come!

      You are kicking ass!
