JD’s No Junk in June : 120601

The idea here is to live a healthy life. I hate “diets”.

Paleo/CrossFit is not so much a diet and exercise program for me so much as it is a lifestyle. However- it is not my religion either! I enjoy an occasional beer, maybe that slice of pizza…Sunday morning doughnut?

It can be a slippery slope though. If you are in the process of getting leaner (I hate the term weight-loss too), then you need to be strict. 100% will be easier to adhere to and get the most efficient results. If you are wanting to be a competitive athlete – same thing. If you are as lean as you want to be, are generally healthy and are in this for the long haul benefits, then perhaps an occasional “cheat” is actually a good balance for you. That is up for you to decide.

If you have slid down that slippery slope. If you want to take things to the next level…if you have some body fat you would like to shed for summer…then this is for you! Consider taking part in J.D.’s “No Junk In June” plan!

Here’s how it works.

1- Beginning NOW, you commit to stick to a plan through June. What plan? Your plan! For the best results for most people I recommend a 100% paleo plan using high quality, whole foods. If that seems unrealistic for you, or you feel you will thrive better with some variations, then plan out what you think will work best for you. If you want some ideas or help- talk to a coach or a fellow student that has had great success! You have tonnes of great resources here!

2- Put it in writing. Line out exactly what you plan to stick to. Call it rules. Call it a contract. Call it a plan. Whatever you call it- write it down (or type it up and print it out).

3- Commit to it. Sign it. Bring it to PXT and we will post it for all to see in the mobility room bulletin board. Not only will this help with your own accountability, it will also help to inspire others. It will also let your PXT family know what you are trying to accomplish so that you can draw upon the encouragement of your fellow students! If you are in- please bring your plan and post it up by Monday June 4th!

I love to see people thrive! Annie was strong and lean when she came to us- but that hasn’t kept her from getting stronger, hitting PR’s and continuing to thrive! Awesome work Annie D!

    I will have my “No Junk in June” posted on Monday. This sounds like a great challenge and an excellent way to improve at Crossfit.

    I have heard many things about the Paloe way of eating and wanted a quick refresher on it, so I Googled it and found a good quick guide.
