Don’t miss our Nutrition Clinic from 9am-12pm on Saturday! We will follow it up with an optional, little bodyweight workout at Noon!
The first half will discuss health implications of the SAD (Standard American Diet) and how to overcome them. Participants will come away with simple guidelines and strategies for achieving optimal bodyweight, lowering heart disease risk, improving blood sugar control, sharper focus, and moving towards outstanding general health and wellbeing.
Â
The second segment will discuss how to move beyond wellness and into the realm of superior fitness and performance. Participants will gain a general understanding of the role nutrition plays in each of the metabolic/energy pathways and how tailor their eating strategies based on their training volume, intensity, and specific goals.
Presented by 1st Lieutenant Phil Menagh (PJ)
PJ currently serves the US Air Force as a Registered Dietitian. During his last assignment, he was the Nutrition Program Manager for Ramstein Airbase in Germany–where he conducted classes, counseling, outreach, and other programs for the prevention and treatment of disease and improving the performance of Soldiers, Airmen and local athletes.
Additionally, PJ worked closely with the Ramstein Physical Therapy Clinic in the delivery of practical training to Military Physical Training Leaders (PTLs) incorporating elements of CrossFit methodology with athletic training, mobility, and injury prevention techniques in order to teach PTLs how to lead safer, more effective unit training sessions. Off-duty, PJ was a trainer for the non-profit CrossFit affiliate CrossFit Ramstein.
PJ is a Registered Dietitian with a Certificate of Training in Child and Adolescent Weight Management and is closing in on the requirements to test to be a Certified Sport Specialty Dietitian.
He is a Certified CrossFit lvl 1 Trainer, and holds CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit Football certifications.  Â
A proud alumni of Lake Oswego High School, PJ is very excited to visit his friends, family, and his favorite city in the world (Portland) on his way to his next assignment at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

Damn PJ’s such a quite guy you’d never know how badass he is. Glad I got to throwdown in a few workouts with him while he was in town.

Yeah no joke. He’s about the most unassuming person I’ve ever met. I think he beat me in almost every workout we participated in!
New pull-up PR this morning: 44.
